This September we welcomed twenty five students from Central St Martins renowned MA Character Animation course, into our new studio space. Significantly larger than our previous home, it provides us with vital growing room for an expanding team and a new space to host events — the ‘workshop’.
It was the first day of term for the character animation cohort, who travelled from their base at the Coal Drops Yard campus to our home in bustling Borough, just a stone’s throw from the Tate Modern.
The line up involved an introduction from our Creative Director, Stephen Middleton, who explained Art&Graft’s unique position within the industry, how our approach is different to a traditional agency or production company and the range of both our internal projects and external partnerships.
The students were then given real insight into how our creatives work alongside our clients with case studies from Morgane Billault and Freddie Griffiths, two members of our creative team specialising in cell animation.
And then the floor was open to questions! Everything from how long we really have for project sprints, how experimental our Sparks Sessions become and how to perfect graduate showreels.
We were extremely happy to open our new workshop space with this inaugural event- something that has been long awaited.
And to have early discussions about our Internships opportunities for 2024…
