A global summer of sport, modes to flex on and off the pitch, for every goal scored and penalty missed, adaptable across multiple languages, driving action and creating community.
Summer 2026. The World Cup. The whole world tuning in. When everyone is talking about football, how do you create a social media toolkit that actually cuts through the noise?
Google Brand Studio approached Art&Graft for an easily adaptable toolkit which would empower regional teams across EMEA to quickly react to every moment during the World Cup, encouraging audiences to use Gemini to enhance their pre, during and post match experience.
Leveraging our knowledge of the Gemini design system, our team developed a visual language which took brand fundamentals from Google and Gemini and adapted them for cultural moments.
Vibrant visuals pair with a relatable voice to connect with young fans across EMEA who are scrolling as they watch. The goal? Bringing everyone together, from complete novices to seasoned football fanatics.
The toolkit needed to be easily adaptable, allowing any marketing team from across Google to pick up and quickly respond to what’s happening on and off the pitch, whilst maintaining design discipline at scale and speed.
As well as being fully functional across a range of regions and languages, the final toolkit features a suite of different modes to capture every emotion of the world cup, from thrilling goals to heartbreaking corners, and pre-match build-up to post-match replays.
A range of backgrounds, typographic layouts and motion principles empower teams to clearly define the difference between states such as the high energy hype mode, and the more quiet and personal conversation mode.
Toolkits were delivered across Figma and After Effects, accompanied by comprehensive style guides ensuring that anyone could jump straight in and start adapting.
Fully editable text can easily be swapped out across multiple frames via a single input, and combine with interchangeable backgrounds to keep content feeling individualised and fresh. Individual cards can be put together in different orders to create a full flow, taking the customer on a journey that ends with a call to action.
The UI also allows for seamless integration of generated imagery, video generated by Veo and audio generated by Lyria, inspiring the audience to jump into Gemini and replicate these moments themselves.
