A crisp blue sky to haunting midnight mist, an eternal rotation of searching light, blinding transitions, a seamless loop. Real rock scans and Unreal renders, cinematic cameras and photographic textures, new tech and classic imagery.
The Lighthouse is the result of the studio team’s first experiments with Unreal Engine 4, building an atmospheric coastal scene to test lighting, shaders and simulations with the latest tech.
"I enjoyed the immediate nature of viewing my inputs instantly and being able to move around the scene – the rendering capabilities of Unreal allowed for plenty of creative exploration straight off the bat. It was also fun to experiment with the different times of day once the scene had been built."

Using Quixel library’s extensive library of resources, the team quickly assembled the rocky formations and pebble textures needed to create the outcrop of land for the lighthouse and the surrounding shore.
The beacon of light emanating from the lighthouse transitions the scene from deep blue skies to a nighttime mist where it illuminates the calm seas and ancient rocks.
