Black Friday to Cyber Monday, the festive season and beyond, considered compositions all year round, studio grade lighting and brilliant bokeh, refined renders, the beauty of negative space, room to grow, a scalable system that Works Beautifully.
The team at Ring approached us with a festive challenge — to elevate their full product range through consistent branded compositions which could adapt seasonally. Introducing: The Gift Stack.
The initial brief was open ended but required an extensive list of compositions, calling for an exploration of how best to highlight the products statically through a hyper-focus on this contained environment.
The studio team methodically explored how best to highlight products by testing composition, scale, lighting and depth of field. Rapidly prototyping in both 2D and 3D provided the Ring team with multiple directions and fresh perspectives — continuously refined and revisited to arrive at the right solution, not the first one.
Early experimental wrapping paper explorations became realised deliverables, animated for Ring’s Christmas campaign. Delivering not only an extensive toolkit, but a visual system that can keep on giving.
“The main challenge was to design for a wide variety of aspect ratios for a range of screen sizes and devices. I really like the early explore into the project, looking at various lighting setups to set the tone and mood of the compositions.”
